About Viper Sleeves

We play these games. That’s the short version of why Viper Sleeves exists. We know the worry every serious player carries into an event — that the deck you tuned and practiced with could be undone not by a play you made, but by the gear protecting it.

Our Story

Viper Sleeves started as an idea in 2022 — not a plan, just two frustrated players tired of paying for sleeves that used to hold up and shuffle clean, and didn’t anymore. We spent the next year and a half testing cuts, seams, and materials with real players in real games before we turned that idea into a real company: Viper Sleeves, part of Magic Mafia LLC, was formed in February 2023, and we brought our first sleeves to market that October. We’re based in Mesa, Arizona, where we’re still at it today.

Who We Are

Viper Sleeves is run by Jim and Pearl Ellis — a husband-and-wife team with over 30 years of combined experience in the TCG world between playing, judging, and collecting. We’re a family that plays everything, TCG, board games, card games, you name it — family game night is a real thing at our house. Every decision about how a sleeve is cut or a seam is welded goes through people who actually shuffle these decks themselves.

What We Do

We manufacture, wholesale, and distribute sleeves, life counters, deck boxes, and other accessories for TCG players — designed for players, by players. Every product goes through real playtesting with real players before it reaches a shelf.

We made one call early on that’s shaped everything since: no brick-and-mortar stores of our own. We’d rather help your local game store succeed than compete with it, which is why you’ll find us wholesaling into shops across the country instead of opening our own.

We’d rather show you the work than tell you it’s good. Sleeve a deck in ours, run it against what you’ve got now, and hold us to it.

A Word About “Cutting Corners”

We take “we don’t cut corners” seriously — literally, too. Every Viper sleeve gets the same precision die-cut edges, square and consistent, so it works with every deck box and inner sleeve you already own, no proprietary gear required. Some sleeves on the market today take that idiom a little too literally. More on that soon.
