We’re the Official Sleeve Partner of the Land, Go Invitational Series

We’ve got news I’ve been sitting on for a few days, and it’s a good one: Viper Sleeves is now the Official Sleeve Partner of the Land, Go Invitational Series.

Starting this October, every participating store on Land, Go’s nationwide Commander circuit will be running events with Viper Sleeves gear on the table. And every color in our Viper Snakeskins line has already been judge-reviewed for tournament legality.

What is the Land, Go Invitational Series?

If you haven’t run into them yet, Land, Go runs one of the most ambitious competitive Commander (cEDH) circuits in the country with qualifiers at local game stores across 26 states, all season long, funneling into a single invite-only championship every May. Their pitch is blunt and I like it: one circuit, one champion, one Black Lotus. Hundreds of players work their way through qualifiers all year for a shot at that stage.

What this actually means if you’re playing a Land, Go event

• Every participating store gets a kit of Viper Sleeves gear to run their qualifiers with and to test, so there’s a good chance our product is already on the table when you sit down.
• At select events, our Viper Snakeskins are the prize support. Real product for the players who finish at the top of the standings.
• Land, Go is running what they call the Viper Tournament Test: real players, real tournament conditions, structured feedback after every event.

Every color, judge-reviewed for tournament play

Before we signed anything, Land, Go had their own certified Level 2 judge, Wayne Young, personally review every Viper Snakeskins color for tournament legality. Six colors from the Viper Snakeskins line-up came out approved for competitive play: Black, Blue, Gray, Green, Purple, and Teal. The other six colors almost made the cut, but required an outer sleeve to help eliminate slight bleed-through.

That review turned up something worth knowing: our lighter colors can show some bleed-through under certain lighting, though it clears up once an outer sleeve like our Anaconda is applied. That’s exactly the kind of detail we wanted surfaced before signing off, and it’s what led to a mutual agreement on the final six. Those are the Viper Snakeskins colors you’ll see in Event Kits and prize support at Land Go events all season.
